We operate in close co-operation with our friends at Poplar Nurseries, but we are a separate company operating at their site under a lease arrangement.
Most trains are but on quieter days we may use our large diesel outline electrically powered loco to haul trains.
No all tickets are sold at the railway, either on the day or in a prepaid ticket cards that can be used at any time.
We only take cash on the railway but you can buy our £10 or £18 multi ride tickets using a Credit or Debit Card at the Chappel Chocolate House, which is situated in the large rear car park at Poplar Nurseries. They also sell great hand made chocolates!
No, sadly dogs are not allowed on the Poplar Nurseries site, guide dogs excepted.
You should allow about 5 minutes for boarding the train, the journey and disembarking afterwards.
Nobody wants to sit on a train on a cold and wet day so we do reserve the right not to operate in bad weather. Please check our Facebook page for details of service cancellations.
Yes, but subject to our busy operating calendar. We would not want to shut the railway to passengers on a busy bank holiday, but may well be happy to open the line exclusively for a birthday on quieter days. Please contact us for further details.
Yes. We sell cards for either 10 or 20 rides at £10 and £18 respectively. These can be used at any time and by anybody and have no expiry date. They also make great presents for the train mad youngster in your family.
